The UML 2 Foundation / OCUP 2 Foundation (prerequisite to UML 2 Intermediate and Advanced exams) certification exam tests an individual's knowledge of a subset of the most used UML behavioral and structural diagram types and UML elements and attributes needed to design and implement real, practical and everyday systems. The individual is also tested on why certain domains use software modeling and the benefits they derive therefrom.

This UML 2 certification level is intended to certify practitioners whose depth of UML knowledge and skill supports proficient model building and interpretation. With an UML 2 Foundation certification, a model user is well-equipped to interpret UML diagrams while a model builder is prepared to work on a modeling team.

The UML 2 Intermediate / OCUP 2 Intermediate (prerequisite to UML 2 Advanced exam) certification exam extensively tests an individual's knowledge of the most appropriate UML elements and attributes of structures frequently used in complex and larger system models.

With a UML 2 Intermediate certification, a model builder is well-equipped to design and generate interoperating modules, improve upon other models and clearly explain the full UML diagram suite to model users.

The UML 2 Advanced / OCUP 2 Advanced certification exam tests an individual's knowledge on the complete UML palette of elements and attributes available for modeling structure and behavior in up to the largest of system models as well as metamodeling based on other specifications in the UML family (Alf, fUML and MOF).

With a UML 2 Advanced certification, a model builder is the company UML guru at the highest level of technical management, leading workgroups and presentations, making decisions on analysis, design and development proposals and evaluating their results

The BPM 2 / OCEB 2 Fundamental (prerequisite to BPM 2 / OCEB 2 Intermediate and Advanced exams) exam tests an individual's knowledge of basic business concepts and terms, business motivation and planning, business processes and management, BPMN elements, the Analytic Conformance Class, the Descriptive Conformance Class, process quality, governance and metrics frameworks.

With a BPM 2 Fundamental certification, an individual is qualified to be a productive and responsible member of a BPMN project team on either the business or technical side.

The BPM 2 Intermediate exam, a prerequisite for the BPM 2 Advanced exam, evaluates an individual's understanding of key concepts such as the Business Motivation Model (BMM), including influencers, assessments, and modeling scenarios. It also covers advanced BPM topics, such as the benefits of a unified business-wide vocabulary through the Semantics of Business Vocabulary and Business Rules (SBVR) approach.

Additionally, the exam assesses knowledge and skills in business process management, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Business Activity Monitoring, process simulation and optimization, modeling Return on Investment (ROI), and applying industry frameworks for process quality, metrics, governance, and regulatory compliance.

Earning the BPM 2 Intermediate certification qualifies an individual, whether as a team member or leader, to design and manage BPM projects of moderate complexity, including their distributed components.

The BPM 2 / OCEB 2 Advanced exam tests an individual's knowledge of alignment of BPM with enterprise goals and resources, advanced business process modeling, management of BPM programs, advanced change management, compliance and assurance, and advanced topics in process improvement.

With an BPM 2 Business certification, an individual is qualified to lead a major BPM project implementation from the business perspective, advise senior management on the application and optimization of business processes to achieve strategic goals, provide both visionary and practical business guidance for large-scale enterprise-wide BPM deployments with highly complex interdependent processes, establish and manage a BPM Center of Excellence, or design and provide in-depth business-oriented training and quality assurance for BPM technologies
